Metal’s, the importance of adapting to the requirements of a mar

Added on: Monday 26 February, 2007

At any level, it is evident that choosing the right supplier to satisfy the needs of a company that wishes to enter into the market is a complex matter, especially for those companies who intend to follow the continuous evolutions of the market and respond to ever-more demanding requirements. A recent survey showed that there are four essential factors that constitute the main characteristics of a supplier: quality, technology, punctuality, and last but not least, price. In terms of the issue of quality, the first thing to be noted is that higher qualitative standards are required for European products due to the progress and introduction onto the market of more and more competitive oriental products; as a consequence, companies are obliged to select suppliers that are not only certified, but also able to control, monitor and respect quality in all phases of the production cycle. In order to carry out this task, it is necessary to choose suppliers that pay attention to technologies, and whose production machinery, computer technology, consultancy services and planning equipment are constantly evolving. In other words, suppliers should be able to offer their own preparation in order to enable companies to achieve the complete industrialization and standardization of the product, and therefore they must guarantee those conditions that allow an optimal final result. As for delivery times, it is well known that this has become a significant factor not only for the length of time required for the processing operations, but also for respecting delivery dates; without doubt this is the characteristic that differentiates between the various companies on the market. Last but not least, a few words about prices: every company, probably at its own expense, has learnt not to trust suppliers that apparently offer very competitive prices but rarely respect the above mentioned points. It is necessary to consider that a supplier with an average production of a high quality level, that is in continuous evolution from the technological point of view, that has got a structure able to provide and respect precise lead-times, will have higher costs that will certainly affect the price. This does not mean that the supplier is not competitive, on the contrary: how much does a non-conform product cost? How much does a product created with inappropriate equipment cost? How much does a product cost that does not respond to the design specifications cost? How much does failure to deliver on time cost? Over the years, METAL’S has tried to satisfy these needs, with a team of about one hundred people, and training staff that can offer both technical and commercial advice. The company has been operating on the European market for several years, producing stainless steel components and semi-manufactured products for various commodities sectors. METAL’S does not propose itself as a supplier, but as a real partner to its customers: it provides technical advice and assistance regarding the product (the study of the feasibility and of the most suitable solutions concerning industrialization) guaranteeing high standards of production, whose performance is constantly monitored and controlled. One of the strong points of the company is the continuous attention paid to the quality, in terms of both the aesthetical and functional aspects, by monitoring each and every phase of processing, from the quality of the stainless steel to checking the final product with three-dimensional measurement machines. In order to guarantee this complete and continuous control of quality, METAL’S has undergone a steady technological evolution over the years, investing many resources in increasing its rolling stock: particularly remarkable is the fact that the machines for the first-working processes are completely automated, and that there are welding and brushing robots that ensure that the high quality output of the parts is consistent. Since 1996 Metal’s has provided its customers with an on-line service that allows them to consult the status of processing of the ordered product (checking that the delivery date will be respected), and creates the possibility of a concrete interaction with its Sales Department for any necessary modifications. And as for the price? METAL’S has improved its flexible structure, and is now ready to cope with an ever-changing market: any request can be satisfied by the visit of a member of the sales team, and by a follow up offer. METAL’S is growing and adapting to an ever-changing market that is becoming ever-more demanding. METAL’S is ready to accept any challenge, implementing solutions, realizing ambitions and development plans, guaranteeing a professional and reliable service, and growing in strength thanks to the loyalty of its long-standing customers.
